Is Numa a real bank?
Numa is not a bank — Numa is a financial technology company.
All of our banking services are provided by our banking partner: Bank al Etihad.
What is a financial technology company?
A financial technology, or a FinTech company is an organization that uses the latest technology to offer both financial and non financial services to its customers!
We are not re-inventing banking, we are making the lives of freelancers & creators easier.
Are financial technology companies regulated?
Yes — FinTech companies are subject to the same regulations as traditional banks, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations. They must also obtain banking licenses or partner with a licensed bank to provide financial services.

Who can use Numa?
Numa is designed for all independent professionals, freelancers, creators, and you — anyone 18 or older with a valid Jordanian national ID card is welcome to apply for Numa.
Is Numa available outside of Jordan?
No — currently Numa is only available in Jordan.
What documents do I need to open an account with Numa?
To open a new Numa account — you only need your Jordanian national ID card & proof of address (e.g., electricity bill, water bill, etc.)
Are there any fees associated with creating a Numa account?
No — there are no hidden fees or charges associated with creating a Numa account.
Can I use a non-Jordanian number to create a Numa account?
No — you can only use a Jordanian phone number to open a Numa account.
Can Bank al Etihad help me if I need any support?

What is our relationship with Bank al Etihad and will I be opening a BAE account?
Numa is a fintech company providing financial and non financial services to make the lives of freelancers & creators easier. On the financial side, our banking partner is Bank al Etihad. What does banking partner mean? It means that when you open an account with Numa or issue a virtual prepaid VISA card they are issued from Bank al Etihad, as Numa does not have a banking license.
It is important to note that your SWIFT code & IBAN are from Bank al Etihad, as legally we cannot provide these financial services directly. However, all your interactions and communications will be through Numa, and all the services and features you use are provided by Numa.
